NU Qualifications

 

Naresuan University offers a range of academic programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The university provides a conducive environment for learning and research and offers various support services to ensure international students have a comfortable and enriching academic experience. The university welcomes international students who meet the qualifications and requirements mentioned below. 

Here are the qualifications for international students at Naresuan University:


1. Academic qualifications:

    International students must complete their secondary education or high school in their respective countries with a passing grade. Additionally, for undergraduate studies, they must complete their secondary education with a GPA of at least 2.00 or equivalent. For postgraduate studies, they must complete their undergraduate studies with a GPA of at least 2.00 or equivalent.


2. Language proficiency:

    International students must have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. The university requires a minimum score of 453 in paper-based TOEFL for master's degrees and 550 for doctorate degrees, 46 for master's degrees and 79 for doctorate degrees in computer-based TOEFL. Alternatively, international students can provide an IELTS score of 5.5 for master's degrees and 6.5 for doctorate degrees or other English proficiency tests recognized by the university such as CU-TEP or CEPT.

    Students pursuing bachelor's degrees who enroll at NU will be qualified to take the CEPT exam. The General Education English course exemption is available using the CEPT score.


For NUIC international applicants:

a. Regarding admission documents, apart from those specified on the website, the only other document required is a medical certificate which can be in Chinese, provided that an English translation of the medical certificate is also attached. A bank statement is not required by NUIC.

b. NUIC does not require students to submit English test results. But a valid TOEFL or IELTS result may be used for exemption from some General Education English courses.


3. Application requirements:

    International students must provide a completed application form, academic transcripts, and certificates of their previous studies. Additionally, they must provide a copy of their passport, and a medical certificate which can be in Chinese, provided that an English translation of the medical certificate is also attached.


4. Visa requirements:

    All students who study at Naresuan University (NU), Phitsanulok, are required to hold a Non-Immigrant Education Visa or Non-ED Visa. It is illegal to work in Thailand under this visa type. International students who are accepted to study at NU will receive two certified letters and other related documents from the university to be submitted to the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate along with their visa application form: 

1) Acceptance Letter 

2) Visa Request Letter (in Thai) 

3) NU President Verification Letter 

The Non-ED visa fee is 2,000 Baht (single-entry) and 5,000 Baht (multiple-entry) or its equivalent depending on the country of issuance. 5. Tuition and fees:

    International students must pay tuition and other fees based on the program they are enrolled in. 


6. Applicants’ Qualification

a. Educational background 

  • Graduate Diploma programs: applicants are required to successfully complete a Bachelor’s or the equivalent degree from the institution accredited by Ministry of Education
  • Higher Graduate Diploma programs: applicants are required to successfully complete a Master’s or the equivalent degree from the institution accredited by Ministry of Education
  • Master’s program: applicants are required to successfully complete a Bachelor’s or the equivalent degree from the institution accredited by Ministry of Education
  • Doctoral program: applicants are required to successfully complete a Bachelor’s or the equivalent degree with excellence academic results or a Master’s/equivalent degree from an institution accredited by Ministry of Education as well as English proficiency test score according to the Naresuan University’s Criteria Announcement

b. Applicants must have no records from a court of being imprisoned other than a misdemeanor by carelessness. 

c. Applicants must have no records of being expelled from any institution due to a misconduct. 

d. Applicants must be in good health and have no diseases or conditions that can be obstructive in studying. 

e. Applicants must possess all qualifications as prescribed by the University.
